The Federal Reserve Bank of the United States (Fed) has issued 40-page research outlining the benefits and drawbacks of deploying the CBDC, the digital Dollar. The report notes the hard limit on transactions per second and the energy investment required to keep the network safe.
There are some differences between CBDC and cryptocurrencies, some more obvious than others such as digital currencies, payment methods, fiat currency, and others. Cryptocurrency is somewhat decentralized while CBDCs don’t. Check the article to find out more.
