eBay will allow users to buy NFT’s on their Marketplace. It will be just the beginning of digital collectibles on the platform and, in the future, hopes that programs, policies and tools will allow the general public to buy and sell assets more easily and confidently, in a wider range of categories.

NFT is an acronym for “ Non-fungible Token ” and its function is to define the originality and exclusivity of digital goods, as a kind of digital certificate. The asset gained great popularity in 2021 and is now present on eBay, one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world.

In its official blog, eBay justified that it has always been a portal for collectors and that technological advances are changing the experience of people looking for a collection, which led the company to adopt tokens.

“NFT’s inventory will be provided by trusted vendors that meet our high standards in categories such as business cards, music, entertainment, and art,”

Jordan Sweetnam, senior vice president and general manager of the e-commerce site America of North,

eBay hopes that the sale of NFTs will be just the beginning of digital collectibles on the platform and, in the future, hopes that programs, policies and tools will allow the general public to buy and sell assets more easily and confidently, in a wider range of categories.

Cryptocurrencies as a means of payment on eBay

eBay hopes that the sale of NFTs will be just the beginning of digital collectibles on the platform and, in the future, hopes that programs, policies and tools will allow the general public to buy and sell assets more easily and confidently, in a wider range of categories.

In an interview with CNBC , eBay Chief Executive Jamie Iannone said the company is studying ways to accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.

The plan does not have a date yet, but it was announced as a way to please the investors of the e-commerce site, after the disclosure of the company’s profit forecast for the second quarter of the year, which generated disappointment among executives.

“We are always looking for the most relevant payment methods and we will continue to assess this going forward. We don’t have any immediate plans, but [the cryptocurrency] is something we’re looking at,” the company said in a statement sent to Reuters .

Binance to launch NFT’s Marketplace

In another news, Binance will launch their NFT Marketplace, starting with 100 selected artists.

The “100 creators” campaign, announced by Binance on Sunday, June 6, brings together ” high-profile ” brands, institutions, musical and visual artists with a track record or renown in the arts from around the world, the exchange said on its official blog.

Japanese exchange Coincheck, Hong Kong-owned Crypto.com, and Binance-owned WazirX recently joined the non-fungible token trade. Likewise, the social network Instagram celebrates from today the creator’s week with a section for the creators of NFT.
